Does the website www.kisslecute.com show where Maldives is heading towards in the future? Is this the sort of culture that we want to create in this Muslim society? If you logon to the website and see the messsage that comes up when its loading, you would know what i am talking about - it says "seducing".While the website itself maybe technically a good design and all and a lot of youth might think it's so "cool", its a pure disgrace and a huge insult to our nation which is a 100% muslim country.
Lecute is encouraging Maldivians to send photos of their lips - as they say "Don’t be shy girls! Take a pic of those perky lips & upload a kiss...". The result being a huge amount of photos being uploaded of people kissing. While these photos may not seem like a big deal in non-muslim countries and maybe for the atheistic youth of Maldives, it is a big deal for us muslims. This contradicts to both our religion and culture and is encouraging the corruption of the culture that we have tried so hard to preserve in this society.
So what can be done about this? Who has the responsibility to stop this? Which Ministry has the mandate to censor and regulate such websites? Is it the Islamic Affairs Ministry or the Home Ministry? Is there any regulations regarding Maldivian websites? I mean people just create websites anytime and anyway they want unlike posters and other marketing material which needs to be censored and approved prior to publicising it.
